ROKR Magic Cello AMK63 completed mechanical music box

Product: ROKR Magic Cello Mechanical Music Box
SKU: AMK63
Product type: Mechanical music box 3D wooden puzzle

Quick answer: This guide identifies small AMK63 parts and covers gear alignment, transparent-gear orientation, bushing pressure, base and movement fit, and rotation that sticks after winding. For the complete manual and assembly videos, visit Assembly Guides and Manuals. For missing, broken, uncut, or visibly warped parts, use Part Replacement.

In This Guide

Before You Troubleshoot

  • Test the gear train at the checkpoints in the manual before adding the next outer section.
  • Rotate the rear gear counterclockwise by hand to find resistance before winding the music movement.
  • Apply wax only to the gear gaps and contact points shown in the instructions.
  • Adjust bushings a little at a time. The gears need enough clearance to rotate while remaining correctly positioned.

Parts Reference

Where Does the P17 Gasket Go?

P17 is used to control the space between the bushing and the gear. Refer to the Older Version and New Version images below for its position. If P17 is missing, you can use A4 paper as a temporary spacer.

Rotation and Movement Problems

Why Won’t the Magic Cello Rotate After Assembly?

1. Make sure the patterns on the gears are aligned: triangle to triangle and circle to circle.

2. Check whether the transparent gear is assembled incorrectly or reversed.

Install the transparent gear in the orientation shown.

3. Manually rotate the rear gear counterclockwise to test whether it moves smoothly without resistance or tight rotation.

Solution: Apply wax to the gear gaps while rotating, and loosen the pressed bushing slightly.

4. Make sure the bushing shown is close to the adjacent part, and check whether Part A28 is assembled.

Confirm that Part A28 is installed in the marked position.

5. Check whether all bushings are too tight.

Solution: Try loosening the bushings first. If they are too tight, use pliers, scissors, or nail clippers to pry them open.

ROKR Magic Cello AMK63 tight bushing adjustment
Adjust a tight bushing only enough to restore free gear movement.

6. Check whether the connection with the base is pressed down fully. If it is not fully seated, the gears at the connection may not fully engage.

Solution: Align the holes and slowly press both sides of the connection firmly to the bottom.

ROKR Magic Cello AMK63 base connection gear engagement
Press both sides of the aligned base connection fully down.

7. Check whether Part F14 is pressed down fully. If it is not fully seated, the gears at the connection may engage at an angle.

Solution: Unscrew the three screws, press F14 down fully, place Tool C9 in the position shown in Picture 1, then hold F14 down and reinstall the screws as shown in Picture 3.

Place Tool C9 in the shown position while seating F14.
ROKR Magic Cello AMK63 Part F14 final screw position
Hold F14 fully down and reinstall the three screws.

8. Check whether the movement was fully tilted into position during Step 15. Incorrect positioning may cause the gears at the connection to engage at an angle.

Solution: Reassemble the movement, making sure the two holes on the back are fully inserted with no gaps.

ROKR Magic Cello AMK63 Step 15 movement insertion
At Step 15, fully insert both rear holes without gaps.

9. Insert Parts F2 and F10 fully, leaving no gaps.

ROKR Magic Cello AMK63 Parts F2 and F10 fully inserted
Parts F2 and F10 should be fully inserted with no gaps.

10. E21 is a wooden part; do not mistake it for a bushing. Part E21 is on Board E, which includes a spare.

Why Does the Music Movement Stop After Winding?

1. Make sure the movement is tightened enough. Wind it four to five turns.

Wind the AMK63 movement four to five turns for the operating test.

2. Check whether the last tooth of the semicircular gear gets stuck during rotation.

3. If the bushings on both sides of the gear are too tight, loosen them slightly.

4. If the gear still gets stuck after the bushings are loosened, slightly sand the teeth of the two fan-shaped gears.
