Before You Troubleshoot
Electronic Module Test:
① Prepare a USB cable rated for 5V—1A. Press the control once to start the model. The light turns on or flashes, the motor runs, and the music plays.
② Press the control again to stop the music.
③ Press and hold the control to power off.
④ The motor and music stop automatically after 10 minutes, and the light turns off automatically after 1 hour.
⑤ If the gear set encounters heavy resistance during the first test, the protection program may activate. Press the control again to restart the model.
Common Assembly Problems
Why Is Part P15 Difficult to Screw In?
Part P15 requires some force when being screwed into the position shown.
Why Does the Christmas Tree Not Rotate?
Cause: Part B5 may not have been assembled correctly.
Solution: Check that Part B5 is assembled in the position shown.
Power and Movement Problems
Why Does the Motor or Gear Train Not Rotate or Rotate Smoothly?
Solution:
① If the gear set encounters heavy resistance during the first test, the protection program may activate. Press the control again to restart it.
② Make sure each terminal is correctly oriented and fully inserted. When disconnecting one, hold the connector head and gently move it—do not pull the wire.
③ Check that the indicated gears have been waxed.
④ Check that Part H3 has been waxed. Gently lift it with a screwdriver to see whether it is stuck.
⑤ Make sure the lifting mechanism is positioned above the brown plastic post.
⑥ Check whether the gear in front of the motor is stuck. Start the model, then turn Part J27 clockwise as shown.
Why Is the Internal Mechanism Stuck?
Solution:
① Make sure Part M6 is not blocking Part H3.
② Check whether Part H6 became trapped during assembly.
③ Make sure the marked contact points on Parts A11 and E39 have been waxed.
Lighting and Sound Problems
Why Does the Speaker or a Light Not Work?
Solution:
① Check whether the circuit-board wires are connected correctly. The two sockets in the middle are for the lights, and the other sockets are for the speaker.
If the speaker wires are connected to the wrong sockets, the light connected to the speaker socket may flash, the other light may remain off, the speaker will not produce sound, and the motor may still run normally.
② The two light sockets are interchangeable. If one light does not work, connect it to the other light socket for testing.
③ If the part is faulty, replace it.
