Building Kits, Building the Community: First Successful Robotime Meetup in Spain

BARCELONA, SPAIN— Beloved teacher and crafting star Wendy Bautista shone bright once again last December 13, when she organized a holiday-themed Robotime meetup in her community. Drawing in 23 curious locals, including companions, the event took place from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Nikochan Arena in Terrassa.

From the moment participants arrived, the atmosphere felt welcoming and thoughtfully planned. After signing in, each guest received a number that corresponded to a Robotime kit, along with a drink voucher. Wendy then distributed the Christmas Candy Stand, Santa on Sleigh, and Christmas Town kits accordingly, all festive designs perfectly timed for the holiday season. Each kit came with a cutting mat and tools supplied by Robotime, a detail that proved especially reassuring for first-time builders.

A Beginner-Friendly Intro to Building

For many of the attendees, this was their first experience with a Robotime kit.

Naturally, the early moments were filled with questions, but Wendy made everyone feel comfortable, supported, and excited to build. It turned out that her recent experience guiding her students through Robotime kits was the perfect rehearsal.

Slowly, the session turned into merry building as people started to understand the process. Wendy went around the tables, helping, answering questions, and showing some of the finished kits she had brought with her. The uncertainty gave way to focus, light conversation, and laughter as everyone settled into the rhythm of the building process.

Wendy generously shared her tips throughout the session, and even came prepared with batteries so participants working on the Christmas Candy Stand could test their completed builds on the spot. That small touch turned finished models into little moments of celebration.

Festive Builds

Two Christmas Town kits were the first to reach completion, drawing attention from nearby tables and sparking excitement across the room. The snow-globe-inspired design from the Music Dreamer series quickly became a crowd favorite.

Those who didn't finish their kits took them home happily to complete them. Several participants shared that they were already thinking of buying Robotime kits as Christmas gifts, inspired by what they had just created with their own hands.

Behind The Scenes

The night before the event, Wendy admits she felt nervous. She wanted to give a proper introduction to Robotime and ensure everyone felt supported throughout the building process. Still, her excitement outweighed the pressure.

She promoted the meetup through her social channels and the Robotime Community Forum, and the strong turnout reflected that enthusiasm.

The Feedback Says It All

The feedback that followed captured the spirit of the day perfectly, with some participants and first-timers joining the Robotime Community forum and posting their experiences.

Cristina, a crafting beginner, described the meetup as “amazing” and “funny,” noting how cozy the atmosphere felt even with so many newcomers. Andriu, also new to the hobby, shared that he loved the experience and was already looking forward to the next event.

A Meaningful Meetup

For Wendy, the experience was deeply meaningful.

“I can't thank Robotime enough for this incredible opportunity and for trusting me to organize and manage this event, something I did with so much care and love,” she shared. Despite the nerves, she cherished every moment. “Sharing this hobby is something truly special. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.”

She's already hoping to organize another meetup soon.
