Functional Problems
Clock Weight Setup Check
Pull the clock weight straight to the bottom.
① Check whether the thread has been wound three times.
② Check the assembly direction of the ratchet.
Why Can't the Clock or Pendulum Operate Normally?
① Check for interference with the pendulum and make sure there is no friction at the front or back of the pendulum. Adjust it using the rotatable wooden plate and the hand screw. Also tighten the screws connected to the pendulum.
② In Step 3 on page 9, wind the black thread three times. Too many or too few windings will affect rotation. The clock weight descending too quickly or not descending at all can also result from an incorrect number of windings.
③ Refer to the small picture at the top of page 21 to adjust the rotatable wooden plate. Then check whether escapement fork C3 was assembled in reverse, and apply more wax to escapement fork C3 and escapement wheel A10 according to the instructions.
④ Check whether the clock weight meets the weight requirement. A weight of 300 g is sufficient for swinging when the model is assembled correctly. You can add weight as appropriate or apply more wax between the gears.
⑤ Check whether the gears are assembled correctly.
