Creativity Into Compassion: Robotime Donates Kits to Netherlands Fundraiser

A heartfelt Christmas fundraiser in the Netherlands shows how one Robotime community member turned DIY building into real hope for others.

Creativity Into Compassion: Robotime Donates Kits to Netherlands Fundraiser

BERGHEM, NETHERLANDS— Christmas isn’t only about giving gifts. It’s also about giving hope where it’s needed most. That belief guided Robotime community star and brand ambassador Jerry Boswijk on December 20, 2025, when he sold Robotime DIY kits at a Christmas market in Berghem to help raise funds for the Ambulance Wish Foundation, a charity dedicated to fulfilling the final wishes of terminally ill patients. The fundraiser was organized by Jerry’s sister-in-law, who is involved with a local theater group that hosted the event.

Ahead of the market, Jerry contacted Robotime to ask if the company would be willing to donate kits that could be sold for the cause. Robotime responded enthusiastically. Jerry received 20 kits and sold 15 of them, raising a total of €345, with every euro going directly to the foundation.

A Core Memory

Most of the kits sold likely became thoughtful Christmas gifts. For Jerry, however, the experience meant far more. It was about purpose.

He describes the fundraiser as his most meaningful moment of 2025.

“It was an honor to do,” he said, thanking Robotime for their generosity and willingness to help. “I could not have done this without your support.”

Robotime, in turn, expressed its appreciation for Jerry, taking pride in having him as a brand ambassador and recognizing the impact of his initiative on both the community and the cause.

Healing and Helping Never Stop

The remaining unsold kits will be saved for future meetups in the area, allowing the spirit of generosity to continue beyond the Christmas market.

“I was tempted to buy one for myself,” Jerry admitted with a smile, but he chose instead to use them to help more people discover the joy of hands-on building.

Jerry will be hosting a DIY & Crafting Meetup in Nieuwegein on February 22 at Marconibaan Street, with registration still open for those interested in joining.

The Generous Jerry

Jerry’s journey with Robotime began during a time when he was searching for hope.

“These kits have helped me so much with building confidence,” he shared openly. “Building kits literally saved my life. It has been my go-to safe place ever since.”

That empathy carries into everything he does. Jerry frequently leaves encouraging and thoughtful messages for fellow builders in the Robotime Community Forum, shares tips from his own builds, and enjoys customizing his projects. His generous heart comes naturally, and helping raise funds for the cause is his hands naturally responding to that heart.

Based in Nieuwegein, about an hour and a half from Berghem, Jerry and his wife are prolific Robotime builders. Together, they regularly post their projects online and encourage others to keep creating.

He already hopes to do a similar event next Christmas. That’s Jerry, always finding simple ways to help others despite his busy work schedule.

Among Jerry’s numerous builds is the ROKR Space Shuttle, his most difficult yet.

A Caring Community

Jerry is an active and well-loved member of the Robotime community, often celebrating the creativity of others and expressing genuine appreciation for their work. He frequently shares how much joy he finds in building alongside his wife.

One of his wishes is to meet fellow crafters around the world.

“Finding this group and all the great things this brand does for us makes it even more perfect,” he said.

In addition to Jerry’s upcoming meetup, another DIY crafting workshop will take place in Stramproy on March 7, led by Robotime crafting expert Liset Veldhuizen. Builders in the area are warmly invited to attend, discover the joy of DIY building, and meet other creative souls in the community. Interested parties can sign up here.

Will Jerry be there too? You’ll just have to come and find out.

This charity event was also revisited by the Robotime Community. If you’d like to see more details and community reflections, you can explore them here.
