ROKR, Steam Engine, LKA01, 3D wooden steam engine puzzle, detail close-up

Product: ROKR Steam Engine
SKU: LKA01
Product type: Battery-powered mechanical 3D wooden puzzle

Quick answer: This guide covers the official parts reference and the most common motor, transmission, and gear checks for the ROKR Steam Engine LKA01. For the full build sequence, use the Assembly Guide. If a part is missing, broken, uncut, or visibly warped, request it through Part Replacement.

In This Guide

Before You Troubleshoot

  • Keep the instruction manual open at the step you are checking.
  • Use two new AAA/LR03/AM4 1.5V batteries and confirm their polarity before testing.
  • Switch the power off before adjusting wires, gears, or wooden parts.
  • Do not force a gear or shaft. Compare its position with the diagrams below first.

Parts Reference

Where is the missing P18 part?

P18 is a small ring-shaped part packed loose inside one of the accessory bags. Check the bag shown by the red arrow before submitting a replacement request.

Mechanical and Movement Problems

Why doesn't the motor move during the assembly test?

  1. Confirm that the motor wire and light wire are connected to the two indicated ports.
  2. Connect the battery box to the outer port shown in the diagram.
  3. Make sure the switch is turned on.
  4. Install two new AAA batteries and check that both terminals face the correct direction.
  5. Inspect the wire path and make sure no wire has been pinched by an earlier assembly step.

If the motor still does not respond after all checks, the relevant electrical part may need replacement.

Why doesn't the assembled Steam Engine move?

Check the transmission selector. If it is in neutral, the motor can run without driving the wheels. Move the selector out of neutral and test the model again.

Why aren't the gears engaging?

Compare the gear assembly with the manual diagram and confirm that P19 is present in the marked position. A missing or misplaced P19 can prevent the adjacent gears from lining up correctly. Then check that the gear teeth mesh as shown in the close-up reference.
